Luckily the strap button is big enough to cover both holes. The strings are high enough to be a slide guitar, and one of the strap buttons was screwed in so crooked I had to redrill the hole next to the original, cos the wood is so hard it snapped my drill bit when I tried to drill out the original hole too fast. The guitar I got was really nice, but definitely not playable out of the box. I just happened to be home for unrelated reasons when it decided to show up, so I lucked out.
A signature IS required (even when you ask them in the special instructions box not to do that) so you're pretty much guaranteed to have no way to plan for what day to have somebody home to accept it. The tracking isn't Tracking, it's only delivery confirmation, so the guitar will show nothing once it clears US Customs (they do tell you that much), until it's delivered to your local post office, then all the tracking info will show up. This guitar took over 2 weeks just to clear customs and be delivered to my house, only a 6 hour drive from where the plane landed. Thomann's $40 flat rate shipping to the US is an amazing deal, but the downside is that once it hits the US, it's Parcel Post/Parcel Select (which is considered non preferential mail) so it's basically It gets there when it gets there. This guitar took forever to get here! Most of the delay was on the US side. Thomann has a few Harley Benton guitars I would like, but I can't see taking the risk of ordering from them again. Instead, the would offer an in store credit. Thomann said all this was due to shipping damage, but said they would not be sending another guitar.
There were some other chips on either end of the 21st fret. Also, noticeably, the neck skunk stripe did not align with the stripe on the body. The 7th fret was discolored and had a couple of chips on the right side. Also the frets were not polished and, except for the 7th fret, there did not seem to be any finish on the fret board. The second guitar with an even bigger chip down to the wood in the rear binding, lower left. I filled out all the paperwork and Thomann sent me a replacement guitar a little over a month later. Since this was supposed to be an A-stock guitar, I wrote Thomann, sent pictures, but was told it was damaged during shipping. Also some binding discoloration elsewhere and a few tiny dents in the neck. The guitar had a large chip in on the front binding, lower left. A beautiful guitar I have to say, but I did have some issues.

I got a Harley Benton TE-80 NT Deluxe Series guitar for Father's day. I value everyone's opinion and have great respect for the internet community. I like that they modeled this after the Prince MadCat Telecaster or at least it looks like it was. It came in absolute perfect condition and setup perfectly.
